Project presented by Lou Belknap of Agile Sign Co. & Jeff Kyle, school board president from the SJ Church/School.  Presented details on materials, location, colors, operations, etc.

Committee Questions, Comments, Concerns:

·         Will the messages be related to events at the church/school?

·         How will the USB port be used?

·         Is the top of the sign internally lit?

·         What are the dimensions of the current sign?

·         What does the back of the sign look like?  Solid metal back with a clean cabinet.

·         Will the back be in this plum color?  Entire cabinet will be done in a plum color.

·         Is this the best location for the sign?  Is there an option to move it closer to the building so that the back of the sign is not as visible to the street?

·         Have you considered using two nice signs instead of one digital sign?

·         Church representative is suggesting to keep the original sign as is and move the digital sign closer to the church.

·         Signage needs to be unified on the church campus.

·         What are the school colors? Red & Black

·         Will the current cabinet color clash with currently proposed colors? Consider using a bronze color.

·         Have you considered using a masonry base instead of the metal base?

·         Return with a color sample for the cabinet and any stationary copy for the internally illuminated portion.

Councilman Polensek and Joe Barbaree available for comment on the project.  Here generally in support of the new digital sign but wanted additional details on final location and finish.

Motion to approve with the condition to change the cabinet from plum to bronze color and replacing the sign near the bell tower with the new digital sign.  With the recommendation to unify the signage on the campus and repaint/repair the existing sign on the corner since it will remain.
