Project: Renovation and expansion of hospital and offices

Location: University Circle/ West side of East 105th between Wade Park Ave. and East Blvd

Size: Phase I- Includes 800-car parking garage, two story atrium, warehouse and laboratory, and 20,000 square foot mental health addition.
Phase II- Includes $102 million, 370,000 square foot patient care tower, and a rehabilitation center for the blind.
Phase III- Includes $131 million office complex with 2,080 space parking garage and 122 bed center for homeless veterans.

Developer: Veterans Development, LLC.

Architect(s): Kaczmar Architects, Westlake Reed Leskosky

Cost: Total cost- $526 million

Status: Completion expected in 2014

"An analysis of the project by the city's Economic Development Department describes the entire VA expansion as bringing 1,200 jobs to the neighborhood, in large part by creating a hospital complex that employs 2,700 people. The analysis estimates the new jobs will bring in $1.6 million a year in city income taxes at current salary and tax levels, and it projects a total of nearly $80 million over 30 years."
