Biography:

John F. Steffens was a native Clevelander. He went to Columbia University where he received a degree in Architecture. He was an assistant in the firm of Graham, Anderson, Probst & White. He returned to Cleveland where he was a member of the firm of Steffens & Steffens with his brother George between 1912 and 1914 and between 1915 and 1923. He was the Treasurer of the John H. Newson Company from 1915 until 1917. From 1932 until 1939 he was a member of the firm of Steffens & Fox, which he founded.
