Biography:  
  Alfred A. French began his profession in Toronto, where he built a number of churches and business blocks. He established himself in Cleveland in 1892, where he was initially joined by his brother W. French, who acted as superintendent of construction. A. & W. French was succeeded by the firm of French and Chapman.
