FEDERAL RESERVE BANK – EAST 6 TH STREET – Application for a Certificate of Appropriateness for the construction of streetscape improvements along Superior Avenue, West 6 th Street and Rockwell Avenue for the Federal Reserve Bank. The improvements will include two new granite clad planters flanking the East 6 th Street entrance; fixed metal bollards and chains along East 6 th, Rockwell and Superior; removable bollards along Rockwell, eight tilt-up barricades along Rockwell, the relocation of the bus shelter, new trees, the relocation of tree grates, new accessible curb ramps, and new ADA tactile warning brick pavers.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION The Landmarks and Planning Commission have met with the applicant twice. They made several recommendations, including the removal of planters that were subsequently removed and the installation of a simplified bollards, which have been adopted. Staff also recommended the completion of additional drawings that showed the end of the streetscape improvements near the Superior Building.

OHIO CITY HISTORIC DISTRICT – DETROIT LOFTS – 2801 DETROIT AVENUE The Landmarks Commission reviewed preliminary plans for the Detroit Lofts project at its August 26, 2004 meeting. The Commission had asked the applicant to restudy the proposed wall and fencing treatment along Detroit Avenue. They have revised it to include the existing wall, with ornamental iron fence to a six - foot height. Exposed steel above the security gate and above the entrance on the west elevation will be painted yellow. Wood one over one windows will be painted Vogue Green (SW 0065). The elevator penthouse will be extended one floor above the building, and will match the face brick.

DESIGN REVIEW COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION The Ohio City Design Review Committee recommended approval of the building renovation, as submitted.
