SUMMARY CALENDAR

  1. Ordinance No. 689-11 (Ward 3/Cimperman) Authorizing the Director of Public Health to accept a grant from the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency for financial assistance for the operation of the Division of Air Quality; authorizing the director to enter into one or more purchase contracts for various services, equipment and supplies; authorizing the director to enter inot one or more contracts with various agencies or entities necessary to operate the Division of Air Quality; determining the method of making the public improvement of constructing, rehabilitating, renovating, replacing, or otherwise improving air monitoring sites and other similar structures on city-owned and city-leased property; authorizing the director to enter into one or more public improvement  contracts to construct the improvement; and authorizing the director to employ one or more professional consultants necessary to design the improvement.

  2. Ordinance No. 699-11 (Ward 15/Zone) An emergency ordinance authorizing the sale of real property as part of the Land Reutilization Program and located at 3601 Siam Avenue to Charles W. Davis.
  3. Ordinance No. 694-11 (Ward 10/Miller):  Authorizing the Director of Community Development and other Directors of City Departments to enter into contract with various agencies to provide social service programs, authorizing the Director of Community Development to enter into Memoranda of Understanding with the various Directors of City Departments, and authorizing the Director of Public Works to lease space from the Greater New Calvary Baptist Church to provide facilities for recreation activities. 

  4. Ordinance No. 753-11 (Ward 9/Conwell) Authorizing the Director of Public Safety to lease property known as 23600 Mercantile Road, Unit J, from Mercantile Associates for the public purpose of leasing space to store goods necessary for the operation of the Cleveland House of Corrections, for a term not to exceed one year, with one option to renew for an additional one year period, exercisable by the Director of Public Safety.
  5. Ordinance No. 755-11 (Ward 7/Dow) An emergency ordinance authorizing the sale of real property as part of the Land Reutilization Program and located on East 79th Street and 1827 East 79th Street to Alvin R. Sharp.

ADMINISTRATIVE APPROVALS

  1. Ordinance No. 676-11 (Ward 3/Cimperman):  Authorizing the Director of Capital Projects to issue a permit to Flats East Development , L.L.C. to encroach into the public right-of-way beneath East 10th Street and Front Avenue by installing, using, and maintaining 11 concrete foundation.  [Administratively approved 5/24/11]
  2. Ordinance No. 703-11 (Ward 11/Polensek) Authorizing the Director of Capital Projects to hire one or more consultants for design, engineering and construction services for the resurfacing of Lakeshore Boulevard from the Bratenahl East corporation limit to East 185th Street, determining the method of making the public improvement; authorizing the Director to enter into one or more public improvement contracts for the making of the improvement; authorizing the Director to accept cash contributions from public and private entities, NEORSD, and GCRTA for costs associated with the improvement and to enter into agreements; authorizing the Director to enter inot agreements with private utility companies to pay charges for the installation of underground lines; authorizing the Director to enter into a local public agency agreement with the Ohio Department of Transportation to fund and construct the improvement; and authorizing the Commissioner of Purchases and Supplies to acquire for right-of-way purposes real property necessary to make the public improvement.  [Administratively approved 5/24/11] 
  3. Ordinance No. 705-11 (Ward 3, Cimperman):  Authorizing the Commissioner of Purchases and Supplies to purchase property for the development of the Towpath Trail Extension Project at 1061 Holmden Avenue, for the Office of Capital Projects.  [Administratively approved 5/24/11]
  4. Ordinance No. 706-11:  Authorizing the Director of Public Works to execute a deed of easement granting to Dominion East Ohio Gas certain easement rights in property located on Chagrin Boulevard running west to east to along the northerly line of the Highland Park Golf Course, and declaring that the easement rights granted are not needed for public use.  [Administratively approved 5/24/11]
  5. Ordinance No. 756-11 (Ward 5/Cleveland):  Determining the method of making the public improvement of environmentally remediating and redeveloping the former Warner Swasey property located at 5701 Carnegie Avenue; and authorizing the Director of Economic Development to enter into oneor more public improvement contracts for the making of the improvement. 
  6. Ordinance No. 766-11 (Ward 3/Cimperman):  To amend the title, the second whereas clause, and Section 6 of Ordinance No. 1780-05, passed January 9, 2006, relating to the establishment of the Steelyard Commons Urban Redevelopment Tax Increment Equivalent Fund; and to supplement the ordinance by adding new Sections 6a., 6b., and 6c., relating to authorizing grants.
  7. Ordinance No. 774-11 (Ward 9/Conwell) Authorizing the Director of Economic Development to enter into contract with SCCUniversity Circle Developer LLC, or its designee, to provide development assistance to partially finance the construction of a Courtyard by Marriott hotel at 2021 Cornell Road, certain other costs necessary to redevelop the property.
