Project Information

Near West Case #  NW 2012-024

Address: 3506 Clark Avenue
Company: Greg Noeth Architect
Architect: Greg Noeth Architect
Description:

New building exterior work limited to adding two storefront windows to the Clark Avenue elevation, near the corner of the Clark Avenue-Fulton Road intersection.  The existing stone facade & shingled mansard roof will remain.

Notes:

Building owner is renovating & upgrading interior space for a new retail store tenant.  The new tenant will be renting only the current retail space which has two entrances on Clark Avenue.  The first floor warehouse w/an entrance off the Clark Avenue parking lot and the second floor apartments will remain vacant and not a part of this renovation work.

The entire footprint of this building is 14,070 s.f.  It is a combination of a 9,365 s.f. warehouse and 4,655 s.f. of retail space.  According to property records, the three existing individual stores were combined into the single retail store but the warehouse area was built following the demo of two adjacent homes.  All current conditions appear to date from these 1970s era renovations.  When the rock facade & mansard roof were added forty years ago, the original storefronts were destroyed, except the second floor elevation facing Fulton Rd.
