Committee Questions, Comments, Concerns

  • How is the grade change being treated for the site?
  • Concerned about the front doors being along the retaining wall creating a dangerous condition.  Per HCP: It's 9' from the property wall and an additional 3' to the retaining wall.  There will be extensive lighting along this walk way.
  • Can the entrance for the back units potentially be on the sides?
  • Can you consider making clusters of 6 instead of 3 so you can create making more greenspaces.  Can experiement witht he number of clusters to open the site up more.
  • Consider repeating the same massing on the Wade Park side as the rear units to open up space.
  • Have you considered acquiring the home adjacent to the site to help make the site work?
  • Consider using the arched windows only for the brick units.
  • Any study of using a different masonry color along the Wade Park facade?

Khrys Shefton from Famicos Foundation is present and available to state general support for the project and design

Committee Questions, Comments, Concerns

  • Have you completing a grading and engineering plan yet?
  • What's driving the use of the double arch?
  • Perhaps use a darker window frame to tie into the railings, etc.
  • Have you given any thought on how to mitigate the sound from the trains going by?  Perhaps consider double laminated windows.
  • Consider the alignment of the windows nearest to the main doors
