Project presented by Kelly Stinson from studioTECHNE architecture.  Explained history of the site and this current phase of development for the new St. Martin de Porres high school using the existing "coppertop building".  They are proposing six total signage opportunities for phase 1A, to include a monument sign, shields, text for honoring a major donor, and text for identification.  The Norwood facade is the primary entrance for students and staff.  The ground mounted wall will also provide seating.  Laura Raber (SMDP).

Committee Questions, Comments, Concerns

  • Where is the lighting going for the ground sign?
  • Is it necesary for two signs calling out the donor?
  • Concerned about the durability of using a pin-mounted signplate for the monument sign in case kids/teens are sitting and climbing over the sign.
  • Concerned abut the in-ground light fixtures for the long-term.
  • Recommend using a matching grout/caulking to make a more uniform surface.

Motion to approve as presented by all voting members present.
