Basic composition of sign and illumination are okay.

Committee requests plans be revised to include the following elements:

1. Metal building facade needs to be cleaned and painted.
2. Applicant should provide a proposed paint color at next meeting. Committee recommends a shade of gray, blue-gray, or medium blue. Committee suggests a color tone that transitions from a historic to contemporary palette.
3. Remove Mi Casita sign, located on adjacent storefront which is under common ownership. Mi Casita has been closed for years.
4. Provide additional information to ensure that historic features of building will not be damaged or compromised during sign installation. The building has a metal facade over the upper level. Committee requests photographs of the area behind the metal facade and details on installation and locations of wall penetration. Goal is to ensure that exterior of upper level of building will not be damaged by installation of this sign, or it's electrical conduits. This building is in a landmark district. We hope that, someday, the metal facade will be removed, so it's important to protect the integrity of the concealed, older parts of the building.
5. Study use of projecting banners instead of flush appliques where vertical graphics are proposed.
6. Consider toning-down desgn of the vertical graphics.
