Committee: Local Design Review Committee
Action Type: Tabled
Conditions:

Committee motion to Table.

Request that applicant return with a complete sign package for the entire site.

The following suggestions/comments were provided by the committee. Applicant is encouraged to revise proposal with consideration given to committee comments. If suggested revisions are made, approval is not guaranteed.

  1. Operation: Copy should not flash, scroll, move, or be otherwise animated in any way.
  2. Operation: Copy should change instantly, and should not fade-in or fade-out.
  3. Operation: Brightness should be limited to 5,000 nits in the daytime and 250 nits in the evening.
  4. Operation: Copy should not change more frequently than every 30 seconds.
  5. Digital sign should be a model that is only capable of displaying red or amber text on a black background.
  6. The current proposal shows an unconcealed edge of the digital sign facing the street. Consider concealing this edge by turning the sign 180 degrees or by applying a veneer to cover the edge.
  7. Consider locating digital face in the middle or bottom third of the sign structure. Location on upper portion of sign structure is considered inappropriate.
  8. Overall sign structure may be too large for a front yard area. 5' high by 7'8" wide is proposed. Consider reducing the size of the entire structure.
  9. Ratio of digital sign face area to overall sign structure area is too great. Consider reducing the size of the digital sign relative to the overall sign structure.
