The Committee did not have Quorum. No Vote was taken, but the committee members that were present made the following comments/recommendations:

  • The materials on the building should fit in with the context of the neighborhood.  The architect should look at using a material other than corrugated metal.
  • Add a little more dimension to the North Elevations
  • Look at adding glazing to the gym north elevation
  • Change the material of the pop up space over the extended learning area.
  • The building should have an iconic presence at Harvard Avenue. Possible a statue of Whitney Young
  • The architect suggested adding a picture of Whitney Young etched into the glass on the front of the building and in the meia center for iconic presence.
  • Look into the possibility of reusing the existing Whitney Young Stone sign on the new building
  • Look into the possibility of adding a rounded element in the front of the building to mimic the rounded element of the adutorium at the fromt of the existing building.
