Motion to approve for schematic design taking into account comments provided by the Design Review Committee:

1). Generally, the Design Review Committee liked the direction of the proposed Rapid Station improvements, although they believed the presentation could be modified for a more intuitive flow.

2). Burten Bell Carr Development Corporation, and several Design Review Committee members expressed concern over there being only one entry point into the site. The design team was asked to study this further.

3). Committee expressed concern over covering walkways, as walks could prove impassable during inclement weather.

4). Study the design of the canopy elements proposed. The pause points where the canopies exist should have canopies that extend over the sidewalk.

5). Applicant asked to provide a more detailed landscaping plan / maintenance plan.

6). Applicant asked to provide more details on their lighting plan.

7). Applicant to study integrating signage into the design of the station.

At the next meeting, applicant will need to provide more detailed design, material finish and color samples for final design approval.

Schematic Design Approval with Condition: Study relocating the station to East 22nd Street.
