There was much discussion about respecting and preserving the character of Historic Newton Ave. Adding a parking lot would undermine the character.

There were additional comments relative to situating a hotel in this location - a departure from what was approved in the development's master plan. This will require a zoning variance for use (hotels are first permitted in General Retail). A hotel in proximity to the Cleveland Sight Center also raises safety issues. It is unknown whether the developer has had the conversation with the neighboring Site Center.
