Motion to approve the demolition with great disappointment. The Committee feels that the City's Building & Housing Department is not enforcing housing code violations to the full extent of the Law, to prevent properties from deteriorating into the condition of the subject property appearing before the committee today. The Committee believes there should be comparable funding opportunities for mothballing and restoration of endangered properties, as there are currently for demolition funding. If demolition is to proceed, the committee suggests an approach to salvage historic decorative features. |
