Committee Concerns

  • What is the condition of the brick behind the exterior?
  • Can the canopy be more in portion to the facade of the building?
  • Consider raising the height of the canopy because the new canopy is dominating the windows/storefront?
  • What is the front overhang of the cladding? About ten inches
  • Suggestion to lower the "St. Clair Drug" lettering
  • Did you consider another type of fencing instead of the chainlink with the vinvl slats?  Explore other options in regards to fencing and opacity.  Jason Burick to go back to client approval of PVC fencing.

James Amendola from St. Clair Superior Development Corp in favor of the signage and modifications.  Would prefer to see the signage backlit.  Board on board fencing would look alot nicer and is preferable.

Motion to approve with the facade as presented with the suggestion that (1) the signage and numerals to be lowered to be in-line with the joint, (2) the signage to be backlit for a halo effect, (3) fencing to be resubmitted and reviewed administratively.

Approved by a vote of 8-1.

Fencing was submitted to City Planning staff for administrative review by the local design review committee.  Existing fence was approved as is.
