Near West Design Review Case Report
FOSTER POINTE (FORMERLY DENISON ELDERLY) ID SIGN
Near West Case # NW 2010-008
|Address:||2000 Denison Avenue|
|Architect:||Peggy Brown, Landscape Architect|
|Description:||Redesign of ID Signage that was Previously Approved|
|Originally, the intent of the signage was to have a monument sign on the Fern Ct. side of the building w/address markers located on the columns on the Denison Ave. side of the building. The current intent is to have the facility identification occur on the Denison Ave. side of the building w/a street number only present on the entry columns.
A modification to the sign design is being presented at this time also. The signs in the original approved building package were a combination of masonry & cut metal letters on both the monument sign and columns fronting on Denison Ave. The client now desires to modify the design with the intent of reducing vandalism to the sign and create a more residential friendly appearance.
The double-sided monument sign will be set perpendicular to Denison Ave. Landscape materials previously specified for the project will wrap around the front of the sign, providing three seasons of interest w/blooms & summer & fall color. The address columns will frame the Denison Ave. entry on the outside edges of the walk. The proposed ornamental fencing, previously approved, will shift, so that it parallels the curved walk, allowing the monument sign to be located outside of the fenceline.
