Description: Demolition of Wooden Garage Structure
Applicant was cited by Building & Housing about poor physical condition of wooden garage structure appended to main dry cleaner building. He was ordered to demolish it. Applicant proceeded with demolition in absence of obtaining required demolition permit. He only applied for permit after the demolition was completed.

Assistant Director Jim Danek signed off on an after the fact demolition permit, since the applicant had proceeded with the demolition without first securing a permit from Building & Housing. The sign-off approval included the stipulation that the applicant work with the Old Brooklyn Community Development Corporation on landscaping and parking improvements that replace the footprint of the demolished structure.
