There are many sources of funds (in addition to government programs and grants) that can be used to facilitate the implementation of the Citywide Plan’s recommendations. Cleveland has a long philanthropic history in which leading citizens have donated their resources to better the lives of their neighbors. An account of that history is documented in this timeline prepared by the Western Reserve Historical Society.

There are search engines on the internet such as the The Foundation Center that have been established to assist in the location of funding sources. The following table, which can be used to guide local officials and interested parties, provides a partial list of regional foundations that are potential sources of funds. Clicking on the foundation name will take you to a page with more contact information.
