Across the nation, local Complete Count Committees are composed of active community members who are appointed by the highest-elected local government official. Typically, committee members are active in the following areas of community life: government; education, media; community organization, workforce development, faith-based institutions, businesses, special populations, etc.
The Complete Count Committee works with the local Census Bureau staff to share the Census message with local residents, particularly in "hard-to-count" areas. These areas are often characterized by one of more of the following circumstances:
